The TOAST extension identifies image (image) files created with the Roxio Toast program on the Apple Macintosh. These files contain the complete image (data and structure) of a CD / DVD / BluRay and can also be burned again on an optical disk. Roxio Toast is an optical disc authoring and media conversion software application for Mac OS X.Its name is a play on the word burn, a term used for the writing of information onto a disc through the use of a laser. Discs can be burned directly through Mac OS X, but Toast provides added control over the process as well as extra features, including file recovery for damaged discs, cataloging. Around the mid 90's, Toast came into play with CD imaging. So if your image is big (e.g. 100MB or more) or ends with.iso.cdr or if it did not come stuffed (.sit) or encoded (.hqx) then it. TOAST pointers can point to data that is not on disk, but is elsewhere in the memory of the current server process. Such pointers obviously cannot be long-lived, but they are nonetheless useful. There are currently two sub-cases: pointers to indirect data and pointers to expanded data. Sandisk ultra ps4. Indirect TOAST pointers simply point at a non-indirect varlena value stored somewhere in memory. Disco was designed as a low-cost alternative to the popular Mac OS X optical disc authoring application, Roxio Toast. Since its launch in 2007, Disco was available as shareware, requiring users to purchase a license after burning seven discs with it on a single computer.

A DISC file is a project file created by Roxio Toast, a multimedia disc authoring and burning application. It contains the saved settings for a data, audio, video, or, copy, or conversion disc project. DISC files also include references to the locations of data or multimedia files included in the project and burning settings.

DISC files are the native format for Toast projects. These project files can be used for burning optical discs as well as disc image files. The native extension used for Toast disc images is .TOAST.
